Brian Crano is currently in post-production for his first feature film A BAG OF HAMMERS, which he wrote with co-writer Jake Sandvig.  The film stars Jason Ritter, Rebecca Hall, Chandler Canterbury, Carrie Preston, Todd Louiso, Gabriel Macht and Jake Sandvig.  BAG is being produced by Peter Friedlander, Lucy Barzun Donnelly and Jen Barrons.  


RUBBERHEART Crano’s debut short film was an official selection at Palm Springs International Festival Of Short Films, Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, New York City Short Film Festival (Audience Choice Award), Rio De Janeiro International Short Film Festival, Oslo International Film Festivals, London Short Film Festival, Dam Short Film Festival, Washington D.C. Independent Film Festival, East Lansing Film Festival, Athens International Film and Video Festival, Swansea Film Festival (nominated Best International Short), 2ANNAS International Short Film Festival, Revelation Perth International Film Festival, Super Shorts International Film Festival, Latitude Festival, Brisbane International Film Festival, Bumbershoot Festival and Venice International Short Film Festival.


Crano’s follow up short, OFFICIAL SELECTION stars Golden Globe nominee Rebecca Hall, Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper; and premiered at Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films in August 2008.  


Crano also produced Bryan Jackson’s short film SOFTLY, which screened at Slamdance Film Festival, Newfest: The New York LGBT Film Festival, Reeling: Lesbian & Gay International Film Festival and Zinegoak: The Bilbao International Gay, Lesbian & Transexual Film Festival. 


Prior to making films, Crano was a playwright and actor.  His play 12th PREMISE played around the world at the Edinburgh Festival, workshopped on London’s West End and in New York, and had a long run in Los Angeles. 


Crano’s other stage work includes his response to the VAGINA MONOLOGUES, PENIS PLAY co-written with Mikey Day, his glam-rock-opera GLITTER PRINCE with music by Josh Cooke, as well as his forthcoming drama A RATIONAL FEAR OF WATER. 


Brian earned his B.A. in Theatre in acting and playwrighting at UCLA and his post graduate degree in classical acting and text at the London Academy of Dramatic Art.
